About StorySave
StorySave records the voices of elders from the Canadian storytelling community. Those voices are then made available to listeners world-wide as part of a living legacy through this web site and through the production of CDs.
Tellers are chosen for their artistic excellence, unique gifts and particular repertoires. As part of the recording process, they are asked to talk about their stories, discussing relevance, setting, life connections – whatever is closest to their hearts.
In most instances, the stories you find on this web site will be different from those on the CDs. By this means, StorySave has sought to evoke as full a representation as possible of each teller’s contribution and gifts.
The web site also provides biographical information to assist listeners in gaining insight into tellers’ creative processes and lives.
StorySave is a project of SC-CC (Storytellers of Canada-Conteurs du Canada), the National Arts Service Organization of Canada’s storytellers.
